After we met with Manda
(our Frank's Chick from here, and who's now the first out-of-state Chick
in my flock), we took maybe 30 minutes to wander around Meridian. As towns
go, cute, and lots of stuff to look at and do.
Yes, a sign. But this is a certified retirement city, if you were
wondering.
And a gas station -- one where you can't pay at the pump and get
to talk to a real live person (wow!).
Just a few homes amongst the many in town.
There are painted carousel horses all over town; some sort of art
thing, according to the plaque.
Just south of the mall is Bonita
Lakes, which are quite pretty (and accurate to the Spanish word bonita
("beautiful"). There were also a number of ducks and geese
at the lake, which pleased me (Manda was right, I did like the place).
It's also one of those towns you can get up right along side a moving
train and take a picture.
