Laie is a small town with a lot going on, both in terms of culture and
education. The town also has a long-standing history of being helpful,
complete with being a refuge for the persecuted, dating back into the
17th century.
In small town Oahu, a post office sign will be just fine for my
purposes.
Brigham Young University's Hawaii campus is set in this quiet little
burg.
The Polynesian Cultural Center is parked along the highway and a
strong draw for tourists.
From a distance, this place looks like some quaint little Hawaiian
restaurant or hotel...
... but in reality, it's a McDonalds that is minus the bold yellow
and red signage.
Turn around and lo and behold, the blue yonder of the Pacific Ocean
is just across the street.
