Haleiwa is parked along on Waialua Bay and the mouth of Anahulu Stream
(also known as Anahulu River). The town only boasts 2,200 or so folks,
but still can claim being the largest commercial center on the island's
north shore.
If it's a historic town (in all or part), that certainly constitutes
the need for a wooden sign.
One Love, One Surf: or so goes the store in name and sunny outlook.
McDonald's are seemingly keen on fitting into the towns here, and
that means no giant yellow "M"s.
Fire station? Yes. Also a good example of 1930s Mission - Spanish
Revival construction.
For other surf shops, why go for fancy store-fronts when you can
just decorate an Astro van.
Any church surrounded by an old rocky-formed wall -- even if lava
rock is abundant -- must be old.
