Coulterville is sort of just there, but as small towns go, it's a thriving
one. They even have a fire station, rather than depending solely on CalFire
(though who knows who's trucks are inside). The downtown street had people
bustling about, so the town itself was alive and well.
I cheated; this is the sign leaving town, since the one coming in
wasn't safe to approach.
Coulterville's fire station, complete with old style bell (red pole,
left), and a newer siren (unseen, right).
The General Store; while not looking as though it's 150 years old,
it's seen its share of winters.
The mobile home park isn't your traditional double-wide place --
it's literally the RVs used as homes.
The old looking building is still quite functional -- it's the local
museum (a steam train is in front).
As you're leaving town, or coming in from the southeast, how you'll
first see Coulterville.
