Well, I mostly visited Albany because it was next to Berkeley
as I wandered about, and when you're this close, you have to be neighborly.
Or so I was taught, but never fully understood.
This shady sign is something of a foreshadowing (no pun intended)
of a shady, sleepy little hamlet...
... where a New Year's party may be commemorated with a Woolworth
(aka a 5-10 split)...
... and where really posh people who have potpourri in their homes
overlook San Pablo Avenue...
... who choose to reference their phone numbers in the old, pre-7
digit dialing sort of way...
... and finally, who park at a 45° in angry defiance of parallel
or off-street parking. Albany, represent!
