Some of the best wines in the world are made right here in the Barossa
Valley. (Some of them are also made in the Napa and Livermore valleys
in California, but unlike Barossa Valley, I don't have pictures yet of
either of those places that are not half a world away; how ironic.) Sadly,
since I'm 17, I'm a year early to do any wine tasting. Drat. We did get
to meet a number of lovely people, though, including Sarah and Claire,
whom are wandering about Australia and a long way from their home in England.
The Barossa Valley, as seen from... well,
a hill top. Within the valley are something to the order of 57 different
wineries.
The Toy Factory (web
site) in Gumeracha, has this giant rocking horse -- the world's
largest.
The Whispering Wall, in Lyndoch, wherein the dam has acoustics where
you can hear...
... conversations from the other end, some 150 meters (nearly 500
feet) away... way over there.
The Whispering Wall was actually meant to just be a dam wall, seen
in the lower right of this photo.
