As much as I'd like to say otherwise, I can't really identify the various
"mutant" and art vehicles surfing around the playa plains --
so I'm sharing them just to offer a glimpse of the creative, imaginative
and wacky vessels on wheels that were making their temporary mark on the
playa and paths around Black Rock City.
The motorcycle-turned-bore machine; in motion, the nose cone rotates
just like the real deal.
A Seagrave ladder fire truck; at night, it hauls people around with
its 85-foot ladder extended out.
No idea; but then again, that could describe many of the vehicles
here at Black Rock City.
A motorized hedgehog? Or something to that effect,
I guess.
The brightly colored REO isn't itself that uncommon,
but the sofa on top is clearly after-market.
Your standard-issue flame-throwing pickup truck...
but you won't see them in your hometown.
