03/23/2004: "Midwestern Office Trip - Day 5"
As with many things in life, today met with a minor change of plan. So, instead of hanging around Tripp and Mitchell for another night, we completed paperwork with the realtor, met with an insurance agent, contacted property inspectors and a mortgage broker. Then, much like the Marines who do more by 9am than most people do all day, we were on the road and heading home… except we didn’t get to that point until 11am, so I guess that makes us more like the Navy? Anyway, we plowed forward as far as Cheyenne (only perhaps 650 miles today), but considering we started 5-6 hours later than a usual long day of driving, we made pretty good time. And I'm sure it had nothing to do with Tubby's new day-glo orange pimp-daddy hat or mittens we bought yesterday at Cabela's while waiting for our appointment with the real estate agent.
