Is it me, or...?
Okay, at 17, I'm hardly an old fart, yet sitting at the movie theater last night, I felt old. Or at least, mature. Being there was sort of like sitting in a classroom, with most of the kids chattering endlessly, throwing things, text-messaging the person sitting next to them, y'know, crap like that. When the previews started, a group would yell out, "Green screen!" every time that screen would come up telling you how this previous was approved by the MPAA for all audiences. Then, at the end of the previews, a spikey-haired youth in the front row yelled out that today was Brandi's 16th birthday... and tried to get everyone to sing to her. Sure, things did quiet down -- a bit -- when the film started, but it was something special. Of course, I'm still going to go see films, and occasionally have to go on a Friday night. But I reserve the right to roll my eyes, cluck my beak, and when possible, throw insults at such youths. (Fortunately, most of them won't understand my complex sentence structure and word use-ments, anyway.)
