MY WEBLOG

Hey, you can go home again!
In just a few minutes, I'll be in motion back to my nest from Flagstaff, Arizona. We opted to stay an extra day given some of the dilemmas with getting there (weather, road work, and general maladies), and spent yesterday wandering around many of the surrounding cities. I like wandering. I also like Diet Pepsi, of course, so I suppose I’ll get one now from the local convenience story (which is a bit of a misnomer, in that paying twice retail prices isn’t totally convenient), and get going. Pictures soon!

Greetings from Flagstaff, Arizona!
Well, getting here was something of an adventure, but after 18 hours or so on the road (largely due to some bad weather in and around Barstow, CA and road work in Ludlow, CA), I managed to get here in Flagstaff well enough. Funny bit is, we had thundershowers here, and they had 'em back home, too, some 700 miles away. In August. But I got to see the Grand Canyon again, added some pals from Arizona, and one each from Florida and Italy, and the usual spreading of good cheer and glad tidings. Some days, it's good to be a duck.

It's been a long week...
I think it's been about a week since my last posting. It's been quite a week, I have to admit. At long last, I managed to get down to the department of motor vehicles for my driver's license, and after a row with the Bald Wonder, went down and got a car (since he refused to be a part of it, I went without him). The magic of all that lasted all of a few hours, because as I'm driving through, a stupid 17-year-old chick on her cell phone clipped the back of my Honda, and that was the end of that. I ended up in hospital for a few days, but am recovering nicely, thank you. (I'll get the pages for all three little episodes of my life posted in the next week or so, and link 'em up, eh?)

Needless to say, the insurance company isn't keen on replacing a car that I had for less than 24 hours, and being 16 and a male in this country, the insurance folks aren't friendly on the wallet. So... it looks like I'll be riding with Baldie for a while longer. Phooey. But to get up and about again, I'm leaving in a few hours for the Grand Canyon and a visit to a few Arizona cities along Interstate 40. And I'll be traveling in a much larger, non-totalled Honda CRV this time.
