01/23/2005: "Long week's segue into... today"

Yes, few posts this past week. Tubby's schedule has been somewhat harried by work events, forcing me to attend to domestic tasks around the nest. No, not cleaning or anything I could hire out, just idle things like picking up parcels from the post office, taking phone messages, restocking the Pepsi machine, things of that order. And more troubling, of course, is the frequency that Tubby is babysitting other people's kids. Wednesday was one peep, including helping with homework (yes, I had to take over once they moved from addition to subtraction that involved "borrowing"). Saturday, two peeps, no homework, but 8 1/2 hours instead of 1 1/2 hours. Fascinating stuff. My favorite bit was the trip to the beach. Yes, it's January. Yes, it was 57°F (14°C) outside, and the Pacific was at its usual 50°F. (Sorta cute, really; two kids frolicking in the ocean in swimwear, and Tubby on the beach in a sweatshirt with the hood on.) And now... nothing today. But I'm unloading the boy for the evening, so I may order dinner in and lounge around with my webbed feet up on the table whilst watching a film. And more news as it happens. :)
