08/19/2004: "Oh, North Dakota!"

So, maybe two hours ago we crossed back into the U.S. of A., although a bit more prematurely than expected. (Our plan called for a final stop in Altona, Manitoba, but lo and behold, we're at the border crossing before we ever saw anything ore than a billboard for Altona.) At any rate, we're checked into a hum-dinger of a Holiday Inn, complete with heated indoor pool and spa (open until 11pm), free high-speed DSL in the room, and a rather nicely laid out room all in all. At any rate, after dinner and a spa, I'll finally get both today's updates posted, and those from Tuesday the 17th. But spa and food are first... although, despite the time stamp being two hours earlier than it is here (it's 5pm Central Time here). Anyway, alive, well, and back at home. But few gifts, and we didn't even get our routine postcards posted before leaving the country. Sorry.
