06/06/2004: "This one time, in Melbourne"

A couple of human types walked around with me, and got all tired out because they hadn't had enough soda pop prior to leaving, resulting in a reduced caffeine condition. Well, that, and the CBD -- central business district -- isn't necessarily the place for tourists who don't thrive on shopping. And the Queen Victoria Market is closed on Mondays, and here, it's 3:20pm on Monday (we're +17 hours from California, +14 hours from New York). Tomorrow, though, includes an outing to Hobart in the state of Tasmania, where we've hired a car to motor about the island-state. I guess if nothing else, we'll call this a quiet day, since once we're back, we'll still have almost a full day here before catching the overnight train to Syndey. (And naturally, the Market is also closed on Wednesdays, too... so unless we hit it tomorrow at 6am when it opens, we'll never know what the 1,000+ seller market looks like when it's open.) But, for now, I'm off to try to motivate movement, somehow, somewhere.
