02/19/2004: "~23 hours to Mardi Gras, and counting"

In just under 23 hours, I'm set to hop in the car and head off to Mardi Gras. Sure, it's a 36+ hour drive, but when I get there, I'll have a car. My car. And a dry-ice chilled cooler with sodas and water, delicious, sugary yum-yums from Costco ($108.87 in all). But best of all is a tie between the fun and excitement I'm anticipating once in N'awlins, the fact that super nifty dude Norm donated a new digital camera to the cause (and this one does 15-60 second movies!), or the fact that I'll be escaping the $1.90/gallon gas prices. Regardless, we're soon to be on the road again for the first serious road trip in over six months. Yea!
