10/09/2003: "Why me?"

You know, I'm a decent sort of duck, nice to kids and old people, keep most of my rude comments to myself or limited to what I post, make sure the servers get a decent tip (if they were decent at their end of the bargain), rarely park in handicap parking spaces unless I'm feeling tired, lazy or handicap, and yet, something more is always expected of me. Take today for example. It seems that everyone Tubby knows (and I can count all of them on one webbed foot) are busy or out of town... which means I now have to entertain and dine with the silly dolt. I guess, in a way, it's the price to pay for having the nest to myself for the past 15 hours (far longer than the usual 8 on a work day, yea!), but being home alone isn't that great. Sigh. I guess I'll have to wait to see if I'm treated to the usual banal fare of Jack in the Box, Wendy's, Pizza Hut or Nations. Anyway.
